Kim Botting, Chairman of Soham Benevolent Association, said: "Unfortunately
the
Carnival turned into a washout during the latter part of the
afternoon but all in all the majority of people had an excellent time.
Even though the rain came down it was still one of the best attended in
recent years. A fine selection of 12 floats took part in the
parade which were judged by
The Mayor of the town of Andrézieux-Bouthéon,
France with whom Soham Officially Twinned with on the day. The
Carnival Committee are very pleased with
the amount of money that was raised and the worthwhile local causes that have
benefited from it. We would really like to thank our sponsors and
all who helped in any way to make the day such a success."
