THE GARDENER'S ARMSSundial House, Pratt Street, Soham, Cambridgeshire, CB7 5 The fourth property on the left hand side of the photograph above shows the sign of the 'The Gardeners Arms'. In 1918, James Steadman became the licensee and his daughter, later known, as Mrs Parsons became the licensee until the pub closed in 1959. The property was first erected in 1781 and on the side of the house is an ancient sundial, after the pub closed down it became known as Sundial House . In 2002 the building was restored to it's former glory with the help from various grants that were available. The photographs below show how it looked before the renovation (Left hand picture) and how it looks today (Right hand picture). |
