1834
AD Vicarage Enlarged
The
Reverend Henry Tasker enlarged and improved St Andrews House at a cost of £3,000,
a move which the patrons, Pembroke College, viewed as a liability to future
incumbents.
Summer Fetes at The Vicarage
The
Reverend Boughey lived here from 1927 to 1953, while he was vicar at
St. Andrew's
Church. He had succeeded the Reverend John Cyprian Rust who was the vicar of Soham for 53 years. The large vicarage gardens were a popular place for fetes
and social occasions.
1954
AD Vicarage moves to Cross Green

In 1954 the vicarage moved to Cross Green and to the house
that had been the home of the Slack family, pictured above left. The original
vicarage which was by this time such a large and impractical building was then
converted into flats. St. Andrew's House is currently due to be renovated with
another 4 news houses to be built in the surrounding gardens of the nearby house
know as The Beeches.
