Looking from Cross Green into Churchgate Street, on the left can be seen the private house, once the home of the Slack family, which became the vicarage for St. Andrew's Church in 1954. The former vicarage known as St Andrew's House, next to the church, was converted into flats. Part of the old Grammar School building can be seen on the right hand side.
