The Soham and
District branch of the Royal Naval Association (RNA) needs you!
The group has around 60 members from Soham, Newmarket, Isleham, Burwell, Wicken and Waterbeach, but would like to grow over the next
year.
The RNA evolved from the Royal Naval Old Comrades' Association. It preserves
naval tradition and perpetuates the memory of those who lost their lives
serving their country.
They Raise money for members and former members of the naval forces in need,
hardship or distress who need assistance.
Soham member Maudie Manning said: "It's a really worthwhile association to be a
part of, and you don't need any qualifications to join."
"At the meetings we discuss RNA business and then we just have an informal
social evening and there are many activities to take part in between meetings."
The branch meets formally on the first Thursday of the month, and some members
meet informally on a weekly basis.
During the year they parade on Remembrance Day and also hold dances and
excursions.
